Skiing in Zieleniec, Poland with the smell of grilled cheese
23/02/2021
Due to the coronavirus we could not go to our favorite Italy, so we tried skiing in Poland. And we certainly didn't regret it. We lived on the Czech side of the border in the Lusatian Mountains and every day we drove to Poland to the Zieleniec area, which is not far from Deštná in the Orlické Mountains. Skiing here is not the same as in the Dolomites, but I still enjoyed it very much. There were a minimum of people on the slopes and cable cars, so we could choose from many slopes. There are a total of 30 in Zieleniec. They also have night skiing in Zieleniec, which was perhaps even better than in my favorite Italy. In the dark, they illuminate 10 specially prepared slopes.
Zieleniec is a very nice area for skiing. In my opinion, Poland is generally very similar to Slovakia, mainly because of the cheeses. I really liked Polish cheeses, the best of them was grilled parenica. The smell was everywhere. Overall, I really enjoyed skiing in Poland. Especially the longest ski slope, which measured 2800 meters.
