Budapest during the football holiday

06/07/2021

We went to the Hungarian capital, Budapest, for a Euro football match. We had tickets for the Czech-Netherlands match, so we met a lot of fans from both countries all day around the city. Budapest are two connected cities called Buda and Pest. This is the richer part where there are more sights. Before the match, we went through the city to enjoy both parts to see everything important.

First we visited the famous Buda Castle, which previously served as the seat of the Austro-Hungarian rulers. Now this castle is a symbol of the city. Then we went to see the famous Matthias Church, which is next to the famous Fisherman's Bastion, where I had a trdelník. It offers a wonderful view of the beautiful Budapest Parliament. It was one of the most beautiful parliaments I have ever seen. Even if I compare it to the famous parliament in London, for example, the Budapest one will win.

In the end, we went to a match that I really enjoyed. We were there two hours before the match, and even though you're wondering what we were doing there, it ran away incredibly. For example, I took pictures with players and chanted their names during warm-up. Not far from me were Tomáš Souček, Patrik Schick, Alex Král, Jan Bořil, Vladimír Darida, or for example the stellar midfielder of FC Barcelona De Jong. Honza Bořil and his wife watched me and waved for a long time, which was great. They even liked the photo on my instagram. When the match started, there was a breathtaking atmosphere in the boiler and when I started singing something, the whole boiler was added. The Czechia won 2: 0! There were more than 10,000 Czechs at the match, who surpassed 27,000 Dutch. The trip was really great.
